Beyond Off Grid Documentary Film

About Beyond Off Grid
Beyond Off Grid is a documentary film and media project that explores why we should strive to reduce our dependence on the modern economy and control grid, and how this can be accomplished. The modern consumer economy and associated way of living, with all of its conveniences and comforts, is not resilient to calamity, and often distracts from true spiritual blessings. True freedom is found by seeking the old paths of productive households and local community interdependence. By exposing the weaknesses of the modern culture, financial and economic systems, and essential life support systems, and bringing to light the solutions that are available by learning from the past and wisely applying technology, this film seeks to inspire people to a greater degree of self sufficiency and local community interdependence while trusting in God.

I often wonder how an overly-intellectual Christian workforce will manage to create and maintain a strong and self-sustaining economy in a future country of refuge for Protestants.

And by "overly-intellectual" I do not mean that books, papers, and blogs are not good, I mean I am sometimes under the impression that there are more thinkers than doers in the Reconstructionist movement (and I am the first guilty). Or if we look at the Christian population in the West in general, it is not more in the production/transformation sectors than the rest of the population. The former, like the later, is massively in the service sector, to a degree never before seen in human history. But in a sane economy, everybody cannot do services to everybody if nobody produces or transforms anything. We will have to think about that before we move.
